Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Victory is proud and blessed to announce the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2025. Congratulations to Penelope Chiappone as valedictorian and Lawson Schubert as salutatorian. While we recognize that these are academic awards for the first and second highest grade point averages in their class, we also recognize the virtue that each of these students poured into their studies throughout their high school years. Please extend your well-wishes to them when you see them and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
Penelope Chiappone heads west to Benedictine College in Atchison, KS next year. She will be studying finance and accounting with a minor in art.
Lawson Schubert will attend the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND to study mechanical engineering. He is also the recipient of UMary's Hamm School of Engineering Scholarship.
We will be announcing the G.K. Chesterton award in next week’s Quid Novi.

On Tuesday, April 8th, the Spanish 1 & 2 classes will be serving Chipotle style burritos and bowls at lunch to fundraise money for independent reading books for our class library. Each meal will be $7 and will include a burrito or bowl and a drink. Don't worry about bringing a lunch on Tuesday and instead plan to enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by the Spanish classes to support our Spanish program!

The organizers of the Colorado March for Life have selected the students from Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Victory to carry the March for Life banner at the head of the March this year!
Please see the logistics below for the March for Life. Also, please respond to Mrs. Grant to the questions at the bottom by Friday, April 4th.
Students to be dropped off at St. Mark Catholic Church rather than the school in order to begin our day attending Mass at 8:00 am (this is an hour earlier than last year in order to avoid being late to the rally)
OLV will have two busses waiting for us at St. Mark and we will begin boarding at 9:00 am with a goal of arriving at the Capitol by 10:00 am
Rally begins at 11:00 am and March begins at 12:00 pm
We will re-board our busses after the March and should be back to St. Mark by 2:00 pm. Parents should pick up their students at St. Mark at that time
Similar to last year, students should pack a sack lunch to eat on the bus either on the way down or way back. Water is encouraged but there will be no access to bathrooms so everyone should plan accordingly.
One last thought...last year we passed an envelope around the busses for driver tips. Our drivers were wonderful last year and very supportive of the cause. Please bring a couple of dollars for this purpose.
Action items for parents:
Please let Mrs. Grant know ASAP if your student will not be in attendance. If parents wish to join and ride on the busses, please also let Mrs. Grant know by Friday. Other family members are welcome to join OLV, but cannot ride on the busses as we are sharing space with St. Mark parishioners.
Mrs. Grant needs an approximate number of Mass attendees to ensure that St. Mark has enough hosts. Please let Mrs. Grant know
If your student will not be attending OR
How many of your family members are expected to attend Mass.

Registration for fall sports 2025 is now open and will close June 2nd. We will be offering Girl’s Volleyball (two levels) and coed cross country. Official practices will start August 11th but the early registration will allow for optional summer workouts, uniforms, and other logistics to be done in time.
More details on both sports can be found on the Athletics page. Contact Coach Jayce with questions.

You still have time to make a donation to procure student art displayed from Evening of Fine Arts Benefit. This would be a great graduation gift for kids to take to their dorms, while parents keep a copy at home!
NEW ADDITION! Procure a pack of 50 or 100 postcards or thank you cards with your student’s artwork! To order, please use the online order form.
Click this link to access photos of all the student’s art to know which pieces to order.
You may use this online order form to order art. If you would like to pay cash or check, please reach out to Ms. Van.
The deadline to order art is Wednesday, April 9th.

Tax acknowledgment emails and letters were sent between Feb 1 and March 15. If you did not receive one, please contact Mrs. Bowman.

The Classical Learning Test is a college entrance exam accepted at hundreds of colleges across the United States as an alternative to the SAT® and ACT®. At OLV, we also use it as an assessment test to measure how our students are performing academically. Each year, the CLT recognizes top performers across the U.S. Distinguished Scholars are those who earn the top score at their school; Regional Scholars are those who score in the top 5% in their respective region; and National Award Recipients are the top 50 high school sophomores across the U.S. National Award Recipients are also awarded a $2,500 scholarship to use at any CLT Partner College to help cover the cost of tuition and room and board. Students are automatically considered for these awards simply by taking the exam.
OUR CLT10 TESTING SCHEDULE HAS CHANGED! Our freshmen and sophomores will take the CLT10 on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, and the juniors test date will remain on April 10. Any student wishing to brush up on any skills to better prepare can see Dr. Wilderman or go to cltexam.com for practice exams.
