Rome Pilgrimage

OLV students enjoying an evening sunset overlooking St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome!

Each year, the Chesterton Academy Schools Network offers upperclassmen the opportunity to travel to Rome and experience Italy’s incredible cultural and Catholic heritage. For ten days, OLV students visit sites such as the Sistine Chapel, the Parthenon, the Catacombs, St. John Lateran Cathedral, the Colosseum and Roman Forum, the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, among many others. In past years, students have enjoyed a private tour of St. Peter’s Basilica and climbed the 35 feet under the basilica to pray at the tomb of Saint Peter. As part of the pilgrimage, OLV students have also traveled beyond Rome to spectacular cities like Florence, Assisi, and Orvieto. Pilgrimages include daily Mass, private coach transportation, beautiful lodging, authentic Italian dinners at local restaurants, and knowledgeable private guides. As an added benefit, OLV students enjoy meeting peers from Chesterton Academies all over the country with the opportunity to form friendships that last beyond their time in Italy.
